Inga Kashakashvili

Georgian-born pianist Inga Kashakashvili has performed at many of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Le Poisson Rouge, Steinway Hall, Baryshnikov Arts Center, and Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center (New York); Lyric Opera (Chicago); Barbican Centre (London); Tredegar House (Newport, UK); and the Opera House and Tbilisi Center for Music and Culture (Georgia). Acclaimed for her artistry, she has been praised as “a stellar soloist” (Gramophone), “excellent” (New York Concert Review), and “persuasive, authoritative—much to the delight of the audience” (Hudson Falls).

Recent highlights include, sold-out solo performances at the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series—broadcast live from the Chicago Cultural Center — Strand Theater in Hudson Falls, and the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York. In addition to her extensive performances of the classical repertoire, Ms. Kashakashvili is a dedicated advocate for contemporary music. In 2018, NAXOS released Wanderer, an album featuring works by composer George Oakley, with Ms. Kashakashvili as a principal performer.

A prizewinner of numerous international competitions, Ms. Kashakashvili has received top honors at the Artists International Auditions, the Jacob Flier International Piano Competition (New York), and the Newport International Competition for Young Pianists (Wales). She has also been featured at festivals, including the Bermuda Piano Festival, Fête de La Musique (in collaboration with the French-American Piano Society and Steinway & Sons, New York), the United Sounds of America (Chicago), PianoSummer at New Paltz (New York), the Oracle Piano Society (Arizona), and the Leipzig Music Festival (Germany). Ms. Kashakashvili has been featured on WQXR, WNYC, and WFMT radio stations.

Ms. Kashakashvili holds degrees from the Tbilisi State Conservatory, DePaul University, and the Mannes School of Music. She studied under esteemed pedagogues Eteri Andjaparidze, Vladimir Feltsman, Nino Katamadze, and Tsitsino Todua.
